Why do people still investigate the Paranormal? When there is no evidence that ghosts exist?

As an investigator, this has been a common question recently that I’ve been asked a lot, and I can see why people want to know the answer to it.

I can’t answer for all that investigate the paranormal, but what I can do is answer it for myself!

What I do know is that science does not fund enough research into proving life exists after death, meaning the only evidence to put out there is by people like myself! And if life after death was proven to exist; what could this mean for humanity? More people would be taking their own lives in order to go to what they think would be a ‘better place’. Maybe science does not want to delve into it, purely based on that reason?

What I do know for a fact is more people report seeing ghosts on a daily basis than any reglious groups who claim to have seen God! Yet people still go to reglious buildings every single week to worship a God that nobody has ever seen! Yet nobody questions this?

In fact, 1 in every 5 Americans have reported seeing a ghost!

A chilling 39% of the UK reported they’ve seen a ghost. Men are more likely to admit to a ghostly encounter (43%) than women (36%). Top of the spectral sightings is Bristol, where 54% of residents claim they’ve been haunted, trailed by Liverpool and Southampton at 53% each. Meaning half of all Brits have had what they consider a ghostly experience that they can not explain.

So there is no scientific evidence, but at least we are investigating claims of something that has actually been reported recently to have been seen or have been witnessed.

Many people think every investigator investigating the paranormal is generating some kind of income from it, and that must be the motive behind it?

I started investigatingghosts in 2014, and since then, it has only been within the last year and half my Facebook page as generated a very small income. I can hand on heart say with the cost of equipment, locations, and fuel alone… What my page generates does not even scratch the surface to what I have and continue to pay out.

My blog site alone, which you are reading this on , costs £300 every two years, and I’ve had this site from 2018. My blog site has only ever once paid me out, which was less than a £100… that’s since 2018… and yet I’m still here blogging to you!

So, do I do this for money? The simple answer to that is, most definitely not, and if the page didn’t generate anything, would I still be here? Yes, of course!

However, most teams do earn from the paranormal now days and this is probably why there is a surge of new teams hitting social media sites and making out rightous claims and faking activity, those new team soon realise though that it takes a lot of hard work, time and funds back into the team to keep this up and this is the point where you see teams come to a halt.

However, there are plenty who don’t earn a penny from investigating the paranormal. They simply just enjoy the thrill of a haunted location and want evidence for themselves only.

Grief

A lot look to the paranormal community after losing someone close. This was myself after losing my dad in 2012, and even though I had experiences with the paranormal up to that point, it wasn’t until I lost my dad I wanted to investigate things further.

Unfortunately, as in many fields of work in this world, there is people out there in the paranormal field who will take advantage of those grieving and will play on people’s vulnerabilities to make money or achieve what they want however not all of us are in this field to do this and it does boil my piss abit to see when people class us all as being the same simply because ‘There is no scientific evidence that ghosts exist!’

Personal experience

Some people come to investigate the paranormal because they have had some kind of experience with the paranormal in their life, which they can not explain and want to investigate further. A great example of this is our team member Simon, I won’t go into too much details as it is personal to him but he witnessed what he thinks was a poltergeist in a new build which he lived in at the time. It was only after leaving this house that his experiences of the paranormal stopped. He now wants to dig deeper into what exactly it was and actually wants to experience the same level of activity again to back up what he once experienced even though at the time it was scary.

Maybe if science worked alongside investigators, then better measures and techniques could be conducted to base our investigations on. At the moment, we are using gadgets that are based on theories, that seem nothing more than flashing balls and apps and sadly all evidence produced can be given a logical explanation because it’s not exactly a scientific way in which we are investigating.

I do think the serious investigators within the paranormal field would follow methods and techniques given by science if guidelines were made, but there isn’t and we are not being given the chance.

The only source of scientific proof investigators can fall back on is an experimentby Dr. Duncan MacDougall in 1907.

MacDougall placed dying patients on a scale and concluded that they lost about 21 grams at the moment of death. He believed that if humans have souls, they must take up space and weigh something.

Physician Augustus P. Clarke criticized MacDougall’s experiment, arguing that the body temperature rises at death, causing more sweating and potentially explaining the missing weight.

Scientists have not been able to confirm the existence of the soul either, but again, how many of us believe we all have a soul.
