Last week, I visited St Wystans church located in Repton, Derbyshire, in the UK.
Upon exploring the graveyard, I came across a grave that was quite unusual – it had shoe prints all over it. It had no other markings other than shoe prints of various different sizes – no name, no age, nothing just shoe prints…
My initial thought was that maybe the grave belonged to a cobbler?and was some kind of symbolism?
Or the shoes maybe represented the impact on this earth the person had? Seeing as it seems it could be a 18th century grave, symbolism on graves was a big thing during this era.

However, after researching, it would seem that the same style prints are also located beside the organ… which leads me to think, are the two connected? They are the same style prints…

Oddly, straight in front of this grave is a freemasons grave, which I don’t think I’ve ever seen a freemasons grave, and if I have, it’s nothing like this one… the symbolism is beautiful.
